Tynedale is emerging as a centre for renewable energy!
All the main technologies can be seen in a relatively small area. A
team, lead by Tynedale Council and renewable energy consultants, North
Energy, was pulled together to draw attention to the systems in the
area and explain them. The aim was to inspire others to help to avoid
further climate change by saving energy and installing further renewable
technology systems.
The team behind the Tynedale Renewable Energy
Trail are

Tynedale Council |
| North Energy Associates Ltd |
| Iain Kerr Associates |
| Forestry Commission |
| North East Community Forests (NECF) |
The team are grateful for the use of photographs
from Geowarmth, North Energy, Bridget Gubbins, Adrian Smith,
Iain Kerr, Fawside Foundation, AMEC, RWE npower renewables
and Christian Aid, and for the help of site owners and renewable
energy equipment suppliers.
Without funding provided by
Northumberland
National Park Sustainable Development Fund, Leader Plus,
Tynedale Council, Forestry Commission, Energy North East,
Northumberland Strategic Partnership and Northumbrian Water
Ltd, the project would not have happened. In-kind support
from FC, NECF, North Energy and Iain Kerr Associates was
invaluable as were contributions to the exhibition from BSW
Sawmills and AMEC Wind. |
