Welcome to the website of the Tynedale Renewable
Energy Trail. The Trail is a celebration of new clean energy technologies
amid the stunning scenery around Allendale, Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder
Water and the Northumberland National Park. The website provides the
details along with further information to download.
At this time of growing concern about climate change, rural homes, businesses and community organisations are already proving that technologies such as wind and solar power work. The Trail enables you to visit the sites, learn about the technologies and talk to the users. A permanent exhibition at Kielder Castle (open Easter to October) provides more information. Case studies on 16 sites are available to download or as printed versions and mini-bus tours can be booked with Kielder Community Enterprise Ltd.
The Trail is intended for casual use and to be a resource for school and university projects, for family outings, for community groups and for the public sector to experience new technologies first hand. Above all it aims to inspire you to save energy and to install your own renewable energy equipment! |
